    Kannan “Sound” Soundararajan is a Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University. His research is in analytic number theory, especially L-functions and multiplicative number theory. He received the Ostrowski prize in 2011. Kannan Soundararajan will join the ITS as Senior Fellow again this summer for two months starting in July. His previous visit was from July 2019 to March 2020. The first stay has ended earlier than expected due to the pandemic. We are very happy to have Sound back in Zurich.

    Dr. Kannan Soundararajan is a professor at Stanford University and the director of its Mathematics Research Center. He is a recipient of the Infosys Prize for the Mathematical Sciences, the Ostrowski Prize (both in 2011), the SASTRA Ramanujan Prize (2005), and the inaugural Morgan Prize (1995).     You’ve been awarded the Infosys Prize in the mathematical sciences category in 2011 for your work in number theory. Could you explain the nature of your work?
