Luke Edward Andrew Pearce (born 8 June 2004) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for EFL Championship club Cardiff City.
Club career
[edit]He began his career at Walsall before moving to Southampton, and signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2021.[1][2] Pearce scored 30 goals from 71 games for their youth teams including six in nine in Premier League 2 during the 2023–24 season.[3] He spent time on loan at Eastbourne Borough, Torquay United, Weston-Super-Mare and Dover Athletic.[4][5][6][7] Pearce was released from Southampton at the end of the 2023–24 season.[8]

Career
[edit]Born in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Hamilton came through the academy at the Scarlets before moving to the Cardiff Blues, making his professional debut for the club in the 2010–11 season against Exeter in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.[1] In April 2012 he was named in the Wales Under-20 squad for the Junior World Cup in South Africa.[2][3] At the competition he played alongside future Wales internationals Rob Evans, Samson Lee and Ellis Jenkins and was part of the starting Wales XV that defeated New Zealand, the first team ever to beat New Zealand at U20 level.[4]
Hamilton left the Blues to join SU Agen for the 2014–15 season, citing a lack of game time as one of his reasons for leaving.[5] Agen won promotion that season from the Pro D2 to the Top 14. Hamilton signed for Leicester Tigers ahead of the 2016–17 season.[6]
